Scattered all across York County, Pennsylvania are pieces of historic memorabilia from the area. These items can be found in local antique or ‘junk” stores, flea markets, yard and garage sales, and sometimes tucked away in a closet, basement or attic.

Another passion of mine is collecting these pieces of local memorabilia, researching them, and writing about my findings. I’m interested in anything and everything, as long as it has a connection to York County’s history.

Currently in my collection are:

• Books: churches, municipalities, businesses, government, military, family bibles…
• Plates: churches, municipalities, businesses…
• Glassware (glasses, mugs, ashtrays, trivets): churches, municipalities, businesses, fire departments, organizations…
• Ephemera: booklets, leaflets, receipts, bills of sale, church bulletins, postcards, letters, diaries, autograph books, deeds, certificates (birth, baptismal, marriage, death)…
• Photographs (individual or collections): taken by York County photographers or include York County residents, places, events, things…
• Other: any other pieces with a York County connection not previously mentioned.

Some pieces in my collection were entrusted to me by others, and it’s those I cherish the most. For different reasons, the “donors” wanted someone else to care for the items, and being selected as that person truly humbles me.
