The idea for Preserving York came after years of researching the history of my family. As I learned more about my ancestors, I became fascinated in the areas where they lived, worked, and worshiped. I soon realized others were interested in what I had learned, and creating a blog was the ideal place to share my findings.
York County, Pennsylvania is one of the most historic areas in the United States, and there’s certainly no shortage of topics that can be written about. On Preserving York you can expect to find stories ranging from area businesses no longer in operation to forgotten properties, plus everything in between. I’ll write about any topic related to York County history, no matter how ordinary, simple, or bizarre.
This is where you can help.
I want to know what you would like to see on Preserving York. Some of the most fascinating stories are born the moment a reader makes a suggestion about an old property they’ve seen, a story they’ve heard, or something they’d like to learn more about.
If you’d take a few minutes to visit the Contact Me page, I’d love to hear your comment, idea, or suggestion.
